Jackie Shroff On How Cinema Has Changed Since The ’80s: ‘Parde Badlate Rahe, Par Jazba Wahi Hai’-EXCLUSIVE
Jackie Shroff has enjoyed super stardom as an actor in the ’80s and the ’90s. He has been a prominent name and face for the Hindi film industry for over for decades and not just Hindi, but the actor has done films across 13 languages. From making a debut with Dev Anand in the 1982 film Swami Dada to doing blockbusters like Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Saudagar, Khalnayak and Devdas, the actor has done it all.

And even after doing so much work, that includes over 200 films, in these four decades, Jackie is still relevant in the industry. He has multiple film releases each year and a lot more in his line-up. This year he was already seen in the comedy Hello Charlie and with Salman Khan and Disha Patani in Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai.

Ask Jackie how has the industry changed in the terms of work culture since the ’80s and he says, “The platforms have evolved a lot. We had street play, theatres and films as the only mediums. People had to go for morning shows to watch films of stars like Dev sahab. Cinema halls were few. But then they started increasing and then the TV came. Because of that, people were concerned who would go to theatres, so multiplexes came into existence. Now, we have the digital medium as well. So, all the technicalities changed, but the dedication behind the craft hasn’t changed at all. Parde badlate rahe, par jazba wahi hai. The emotions are same on the streets, in the theatres as well as on the TV."

Jackie has multiple films in his future line up as well, including the Akshay Kunar and Katrina Kaif-starrer Sooryavanshi, where he plays the antagonist. Apart from that, he has Phone Bhoot with Siddhant Chaturvedi, Katrina and Ishaan Khatter, Atithi Bhooto Bhava with Pratik Gandhi and OM: The Battle Within with Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjana Sanghi.
